Umpqua Bank expands into Arizona, targets middle-market banking
Umpqua Bank, a regional bank with $30 billion in assets based in Roseburg, Oregon, announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its services into Arizona.
Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (Nasdaq: UMPQ), has hired Kevin Gillette to lead the expansion, specifically by opening a middle-market banking office in Phoenix.
Gillette comes to Umpqua from Bank of the West, where he spent the past decade building its commercial operations in Phoenix. Gillette previously worked at BOK Financial and he also spent 15 years at Bank of America in Arizona.
Gillette earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and a graduate degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University.
