Los Angeles-based Rehrig Pacific Co. plans to build a manufacturing plant in Buckeye and create 100 new jobs.

Rehrig, a reusable container manufacturer for supply chain and environmental waste industries, broke ground Thursday morning for what will be its largest injection molding manufacturing plant.

The company is relocating its manufacturing operation to Buckeye from Los Angeles but keeping an office presence there. About 15 of the company's LA-based employees attended the groundbreaking to see if they wanted to relocate to the Valley.

The facility will total an initial 260,000 square feet with room to grow up to 500,000 square feet near the southeast corner of Turner and Baseline roads at 8283 S. Turner Road.
