Phoenix expects significant economic impact from WNBA All-Star Game 2024 weekend
Mayor Gallego: 'It's been wonderful to see national reporters say they've never seen a city embrace women's sports like this'
Compared to other WNBA All-Star games, Phoenix has apparently scored a thunderous slam dunk.
This was the third time the city has hosted the WNBA All-Star Game, but those games didn't include a weekend full of fan experiences and events. As such, Valley leaders aren't sure yet how the numbers from this weekend will add up when an economic impact study is completed.
Already, Phoenix has raised the bar with the largest WNBA Live event to date at the Phoenix Convention Center on July 19-20. It's the third year the WNBA hosted the fan experience alongside the All-Star Game, and it saw more investment from businesses than ever before.
