New 1,100-acre master-planned community in works for far West Valley
Phoenix-based Vermaland has begun efforts to develop a 1,100-acre master-planned community in Tonopah, which is about an hour west of downtown Phoenix.
The master site plan for what is being called Verma Vistas III includes 2,500 single-family homes 500 multifamily units and commercial and industrial space.
The vacant land — which Vermaland previously had leased out for solar farms — is at 427th Avenue and Narramore Road.
This master plan is one of the largest proposed master planned communities in the greater Phoenix area to date, said Steven Hensley, advisory manager for Zonda market research firm.
"The economic diversity in the West Valley is exciting to see as continued developments are either planned or under construction," Hensley said. "Verma Vistas III has the opportunity to transform a largely forgotten Tonopah area into a desirable destination where residents can work as well as live."
