Fry's to open new Valley locations; more retailers set for Peoria; 10 other deals to know
Fry's Food Stores is planning on bringing several new stores to the fast-growing West Valley.
The national grocer, owned by The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), is holding a grand opening in Surprise on Feb. 22 for its new 128,000-square-foot, full-service store at 16400 N. Pat Tillman Blvd. The new location will be managed by Jeremy Valdez, the company said.
In addition, the newest location will feature a modern design with amenities including Murray's cheese shop, a sushi station, wine department, Starbucks, a grab-and-go sandwich and soup case, pharmacy, apparel and housewares departments, pickup services and a fuel center.
“All of our associates at the new store are looking forward to meeting our neighbors in Surprise,” said Monica Garnes, president of Fry’s Food Stores, in a statement. “Not only will our customers find fresh, affordable food, but they will also find some of the most friendly and caring associates who are ready to meet their everyday needs.”
Also in Surprise, a new Fry's Marketplace is currently planned for the southwest corner of Cactus and Sarival roads with an EoS Fitness and several restaurant or retail pads. The developer of the center is Phoenix-based Barclay Group.
Further west in Buckeye, the city recently announced that a new Fry's grocery store will be developed at the southeast corner of Broadway and Miller roads on about 20 acres. The site includes about 125,000 square feet of new retail space as well.
