Lexington, Kentucky-based Gray, a design-build construction firm, has opened its new Phoenix office to support the growth of manufacturing in the region.

The company has been eyeing the Phoenix market for a few years, ever since Intel Corp. announced its $20 billion expansion in Chandler, said Brian Jones, CEO of Gray.

"Phoenix is a lot of common sense for us because people like to live there," he said. "Where do the best and brightest in the industry want to live and work? Let's open up hubs there so that we can recruit more effectively."
