Cavco Industries Inc. announced the rebranding of its company on Wednesday, a decision officials said they have considered for a few years, in the face of a U.S. Securities Exchange Commission investigation.

Several days before Cavco announced its new identity and logo — which the company says is unrelated to the investigation — the SEC filed a civil complaint Sept. 2 in the U.S. District Court of Arizona against the Phoenix manufacturer of factory-built homes and two former executives for alleged insider trading and accounting control violations by allegedly misleading the company's auditor. 

The SEC is seeking an injunction and monetary penalties. In response, the company said in a statement that it “intends to vigorously defend itself against the allegations made by the SEC in the complaint.”
