Arizona had one of the highest net migrations in the country in 2022, according to a new report from North American Moving Services.

The 2022 Moving Migration Report shows a 57% net inflow of movers to Arizona, the fourth-highest percentage in the country.

South Carolina was No. 1 at 68% followed by North Carolina and Tennessee, both at 64%.

The top outbound states were Illinois, with a 65% net outflow of movers, followed by California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

The report said the number of movers overall was down in 2022 compared to previous years. Southern states continued to be the top destinations for movers, and many of the moves centered on remote work flexibility or early retirements.
